He suggested getting rid of two images in the right sidebar. Jesus Arrendondo also critqued my design on Facebook. I didn’t want to remove my background image completely, so I decreased the opacity of that image down to 36%. She pointed out that my alignment was off on my four small images, which I quickly corrected, and that it felt a little busy. Both had fantastic articles and beautiful layouts already, but I gave some minor suggestions.Įmma Vellinga critiqued my poster on Facebook. I had to adjust the text for my story to fit nicely. As you can see, I stayed pretty close to my sketches. Here is a reminder of what the sketches and shapemap looked like… I created some text boxes and put placeholder text where I would put my story. Then I created some shapes and placed other images over the top of the background image. In InDesign, I placed my background image then decreased the opacity so the text would show up. This was a helpful way to begin because when I took it all to InDesign, I only had to simplify everything down to one idea. On the sketches, I decided what colors and scheme I would use. The first thing I did was to write a story, then I created sketches with all of my ideas for the magazine spread, then I found images that matched what I wrote and the sketches I created. This is bit of a repeat of from my last post, I thought this magazine spread was a fun assignment. Next I inserted images from each project and added text representing each one. Once my title and ending slides were about how I liked them, I copied the slide to keep the shapes and background the same for all the remaining slides. Going to PowerPoint, I inserted the background image, blurred it a little bit, added some color bars with varied degrees of transparency as well as text. Next I went Google to search for a fabric tapestry background image that I liked and included it into my file. jpeg of each project into a new project folder to have them all in one file.
